11/15/2008
Los Angeles, California, November 15, 2008–The Entertainment Career Connection, Inc., offering certificate programs in all aspects of filmmaking, radio broadcasting and audio engineering, today announced that its Radio Connection broadcasting mentorship program, available in all fifty states, provides a new curriculum whereby each student gets their own Internet radio show. In addition, during tough economic times, while traditional radio schools cost between $15,000 and $50,000, the Radio Connection program costs $7,450 for everything from books, tuition, curriculum, plus the mentor instructor, and much more.
According to eMarketer’s 2008 report, “Internet and satellite radio, podcasting, high-definition radio and mobile audio services are all revolutionizing a radio industry that remained virtually unchanged for a century.”
The thirteen course radio broadcasting school alternative offers a curriculum that qualifies students for positions as broadcasters, program directors, voice-over artists, talk show hosts, sports announcers, radio DJs, promotions directors and more. Hands-on lab drills are performed in an actual radio station in the student’s local area.
According to the Entertainment Career Connection Founder and Chief Executive Officer James (Jimi) Petula, “Students that are accepted into the Radio Connection program are not just trained on in the ins and outs of Internet, satellite, and terrestrial radio, but we also work with them to develop their on-air talent by getting their very own radio program up and running.”
Students learn in a real station, under real life working conditions, being trained one-on-one by a working
professional. The mentor faculty proactively teaches both professional and technical skills, which helps to bridge the gap between academia and the workplace. Radio professionals mentor their student s on how to succeed in the highly competitive broadcasting industry.
Radio jobs are have always been in high demand so it is easier to get a job at a smaller radio station, and just one more reason to look for a radio school like Entertainment Career Connection where mentors can help students get a job after graduation.
“Since my second day at Radio Connection I have been doing on-air commercials and now have almost 20 on-air that I using tot on my demo reel. I am thrilled to hear my work on air and even happier when my mentor tells me the sales people have requested me for their spots,” said New York student Isadora O’Boto.
Typical assignments include in-studio lab time training in an on-air radio station with state-of-the-art equipment with a real radio professional that takes each student through the course curriculum.
